How to Choose The Best Quality Belts And Felts-Look Beyond Price |

Mr. Begasse Denis is the director laundry projects of Metso Fabrics, residents in Portugal factory(primitive name is〝FANAFEL〞),he has nearly 50 years of work and operation experience in the industry , otherwise he has been interviewed by foreign well-known laundry magazine LCN several times and published some technical articles about laundry special feltros ,feed belt, guide belt, fold belt and other parts in it. In our competitive environment, the lowest price seems to be the only valid argument for choosing a product, and so the technical spec of the ironer clothing and the way it performs gets overlooked.
It is possible to find lower priced needlefelts that have the same weight as more expensive types but still have poorer characteristics such as :very lightweight internal scrim; very thin and low quality fibre; and instead of a top layer of aramid high temperature fibre, they use an unknown percentage of mixed aramid temperature fibre and polyester. Such types of clothing have different manufacturing costs, lower selling price, shorter working life and will result in an inferior ironer output.
To meet the higher requirements of modern high-speed ironing lines, you need top quality belts and felts . Feed belts must be made of special compact needlef elt with maximum elongation of 24% at breaking strength.
Two turns of polyester needlifelt have to be made with extra breaking strength of 350kg/5cm to withstand the pressure of big diameter rolls, while the air going through should be better than 660liter/dm²/min under 20mm w.g. to let through the extra quality of steam coming from the linen ironed at high speed. Rolls padded with leaf springs will require two pieces of one-urn half-overlapped strong aramid needlefelt with internal scrim of around 480g/m².
But two turns of needlefelt with an aramid scrim of 220g/m2 is sufficient for ironer with Springpress.
Mono-turn felts are made of a special polyester fibre with higher resistance to hydrolysis and a 90% special polyester with 10%aramid cap is recommended to withstand the temperature impact, specially when gas heated.
The real cost of the ironer roll clothing on fast modern ironers represents such a small percentage of the operating cost of the ironer, that full attention should be paid to acquiring a top quality padding. The benefits of doing this far exceed the small amounts saved by settling for the cheapest.
Chinese Merchants,as the agent of FANAFEL company,Not only offers, disassembles and replaces 200-300 feltros for customers, who use the ironer brand of Braun、BMM、Jensen、D’Hooge、Girbau、Stahl、Voss、Ipso、Primus、Kannegiesser、Lavatec、Bowe、Electrolux、Lapauw, but also provides, disassembles and replaces the roller springs for them in the ironers. The number of rollers is about 50. |
